Body Soap by Lofoten Seaweed & Arctic Origins
Soap with Lofoten Seaweed
Beauty from the Norwegian Sea
It is well known and scientifically proven that algae and algae extracts are a true beauty booster and that underwater plants contain numerous anti-aging active ingredients. For this reason, there are also numerous beauty products that advertise the benefits of algae. What distinguishes Lofoten Seaweed Soap from the many other products, however, is its absolutely natural pureness. This soap is handmade by the "Arctic Origins" factory, also located in Lofoten in the city of Harstad. And they're made from 100% organic ingredients, all of which come from Norway. As is of course the wild Grisetang harvested by "Lofoten Seaweed", which is finely ground into powder and used for the soap.
Seaweed soap - the purest beauty elixir for the skin
The algae contained in Lofoten Seaweed Body Soap revitalize, detoxify and activate the skin and improve its overall appearance. In addition, the anti-inflammatory substances contained in Grisetang help the skin to regenerate small skin damages - thanks to seaweed! The lemon grass oil also contained in the soap gives the skin a natural shimmer and provides a delicate lemon scent.
Two women, wild seaweed and countless ideas
In 2016 the Norwegian Angelita Eriksen and the New Zealander Tamara Singer founded their startup "Lofoten Seaweed" together. The goal: To make wild growing seaweed from the coasts of the Lofoten Islands with all its benefits tasty and accessible to a wider audience. And, of course, the two power women did not start their business without having studied the subject in depth beforehand: In Ireland, where the great potential of underwater superfood had long been recognised, the two learned a great deal about underwater plants: from manual harvesting to gentle drying and careful processing. Back in Napp, the two developed their own products and recipes with Angelita's knowledge of the sea, tides and currents in Lofoten and Tamara's know-how of Japanese recipes with algae. Tamara and Angelita celebrate great success with customers and at numerous trade fairs with their products - from the various algae salts to chocolates, pasta and soap.

Lofoten Seaweed

Lofoten Seaweed
In 2016 the two friendly women Angelita Eriksen and Tamara Singer founded their startup Lofoten Seaweed. Their idea was to exploit the untapped potential of seaweed, which grows wild off the coasts of Lofoten - raw in its dried state and finely ground in culinary combinations with sea salt, chocolate and pasta, but also as an ingredient in beauty products.
Tamara & Angelita: The two founders
Angelita was born in a small fishing village in Lofoten. Where her father was already a fisherman. Thanks to him, she knows the Arctic waters and coasts off Lofoten like the back of her hand. In New Zealand, at the other end of the world, Tamara's Japanese mother had algae and seaweed on her menu almost every day. A physiotherapy education in Australia, ten years of friendship and numerous journeys later, the two women developed their seaweed products - from the perfect interplay of Angelita's knowledge of the sea and Tamara's know-how of Japanese algae cuisine.
From Seaweed to Superfood
All underwater plants are wild-harvested by Tamara and Angelita. They are harvested directly by hand where they grow wild in the rough, crystal clear waters off the north Norwegian coast of Lofoten. Each individual leaf is then carefully checked and sorted again in the "factory". Only then are seaweed and algae - depending on the species between 12 and 48 hours - dried in a specially developed drying room.
The products of Lofoten Seaweed
